Cwcw (cuckoo) Barn is a superb recent conversion of an old stone and slate building on an upland hill farm in Carmarthenshire, Wales.
We sometimes see and more often hear the cwcw in spring, hence the name for this conversion of our old cow house into a comfortable warm and stylish home.
With its stylish decor and amazing views this romantic and spacious barn will both wow and cosset you.
There are easy, or harder walks with great views from the doorstep and more further afield.
There is a large double bedroom with king size bed, one large twin room with en-suite bathroom, a small twin room and a separate shower room.
The master bedroom has a king size (5 foot wide ) double bed.
The second bedroom has twin 3ft beds, and an en-suite bath room with a shower over the bath. This is a lovely spacious and quiet room at the end of the barn.
There is another twin bedded room, small, but cosy.
Please note that we do not allow sleeping on the sofas.
Thus we can accommodate up to 6, easily, but do not allow more than that (babies/infants who can use a cot excepted).

The main shower room is small and should be ok for a wheel chair user – there is no step into the shower.

Cwcw Barn has under floor central heating throughout with a wood stove and oak flooring in the lounge, tiled floor in the kitchen, and the shower room. The bedrooms are carpeted.
The twin bedroom with en suite shower room is at the end of the barn, and so would be quiet for a child, if they needed to be in bed earlier than the rest of the group.

You will see Red Kites, buzzards, sparrow hawks, starlings, swallows, wagtails, cuckoos, woodpeckers, crows, tits, finches and probably lots of other birds and even, perhaps, the owl that we named the barn after!
See the moon rise through the trees, or gaze in awe at the Milky Way with the clear and dark night skies that we have.
Squirrels, badgers, hares, sheep and cows as well as the occasional fox and feral cat too.
Maybe the odd low flying fast jet or a slow Hercules hanging between the valley sides, possibly even below where you are standing, which is always impressive, if loud!
Owl Barn which sleeps up to 5, is another holiday let property on the farm and is adjacent to Cwcw Barn.
They are screened from each other when using the terraces outside, and you won’t be able to hear any sound from Owl Barn internally.
FOR LATE BOOKINGS, WITHIN 48 HOURS OF YOUR ARRIVAL please use the “Contact Host” button above to contact me, Jon, to ensure that the property will be ready in time for your arrival before you actually book. This will ensure that there are no last minute problems.
All the main UK mobile networks have pretty good 3G coverage, but you may find the odd dead spot inside, due to the thickness of the stone walls. Vodafone & O2 are the worst for that, but there is a signal in most rooms, and outside, of course.
The WiFi speed at 20+ meg is healthy enough to stream videos etc, and we have a Netflix subscription so you will be spoilt for choice with films & iPlayer etc
Sky Sports is possible on request, and for a small charge (~£15 per week).
